National Volunteers' Week in the UK in 2025 will be held from June 2nd to June 8th. This week is a time to celebrate and thank the many volunteers who contribute to communities across the UK.
At Focus Surrey we would like to thank the many, many volunteers who support the charity to ensure that we are able to support the children, families and the community who all benefit from the charity's work.
Since being founded in September 2016 the Saturday club has trained more than 500 volunteers across 15 terms. We are about to start our 16th term in September 2025.
The majority of volunteers have volunteered 1 to 1 or 2 to 1 with children, giving up 12 Saturdays a term for 15 terms. They have supported their children to develop their play, communication and social skills taking part in messy play, food technology, art, imaginary play, dance and yoga.
Many have returned to support with keep in touch days from March to May this year. As well as the volunteers who work directly with the children there are many working behind the scenes to support with fundraising, marketing, administration, photography and communications.
Volunteers are essential and fundamental to the success of the charity. How wonderful to have a week to celebrate all the many volunteers who have supported Focus Surrey. Thank you!
